District 16 Supervisor of Officials
Fellow Referees:
The listing for usa officiating seminars is now available on the website. (see links on this web page)
There are only 4 level three seminars in our area this year.., make sure you attend one of them if you plan to take the level three test. These will not be done with the level 1&2 seminars this year.
Some level three seminars will be on same day and location as level 1&2 but will be instructed in different class room by different instructors. Emphasis of the level three seminars will be rule knowledge. (this should help test results)
Only at these four seminars will the level three closed book test be administered. MAKE SURE YOU POTENTIAL LEVEL THREES GET TO ONE OF THESE.
Also note the day of week seminars. A couple of the seminars that used to be on Sunday are being done on Saturday. We are going to see if this helps attendance.
These are the only ones offered. We will not be offering any additional seminars at this time.
Officials need to be reminded to register online for seminars. If they fill up, they may not be allowed to participate as a walk up if there is not enough room.
It is to your advantage as level 2 and level 3 officials to complete your registration and open book test prior to the seminars. This will help you understand the materials being taught and will help you pass the level 2 and 3 tests. This is a new rule book year as well. There are several rule changes affecting PeeWee, 14U, and Bantam age hockey.
Thanks
Ron Storey
